RFID Implementation Trims the Fat

According to Internet Retailer 8% of the companies they surveyed said they already use RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and another 8% said they plan on using it in the near future. Big companies such as Walmart and Hewlett Packard use the technology that was developed in a crude form in the 1940′s during World War II. RFID is simple in theory, using a small chip and an antenna that is readable from a scanner up to 20 feet away. (more…)

Moving Blog to my Domain

Posted by bfreedom | Affiliate Marketing,Search Engine Optimization | Friday 27 April 2007 6:27 pm

I am currently in the process of moving my blog over to my own domain at Affiliate Marketing Haven. I just began the process today and according to WordPress it will take a few days. I have been kind of lazy about taking care of this because I wasn’t sure how difficult the process would be. Now I feel kinda stupid because it was so easy. I have been reading a number of discussions about what the best blog service is, and there are staunch supporters of both WordPress and Blogger. A good discussion can be found at Associate Programs.

Virus Attack on Adwords/Adsense

Posted by bfreedom | Affiliate Marketing,Search Engine Optimization | Thursday 26 April 2007 11:28 pm

Beware Adwords and Adsense users, if you use sponsored ads and have not installed a patch released by Google nearly a year ago, you are at risk of being hacked. Virus writers have found a loophole in the way adwords/adsense are displayed and have taken advantage of it. Generally when you hover over a link or a listing it will display where you are about to be taken, however, Adwords/Adsense does not enable this feature leaving the final link destination a surprise for would be clickers. Hackers have bid on popular keyterms cars.com, bbb.com, among others and instead of taking them to one of these sites, the virus installs ad and spyware on the user’s computer. These hackers are specifically looking for your personal and financial information. So if you run Internet Explorer and haven’t downloaded and installed the patch that Google offers you might want to hop on that.

When is your Affiliate Program too Big?

Posted by bfreedom | Affiliate Marketing,Search Engine Optimization | Thursday 26 April 2007 9:58 pm

As an Affiliate Manager you have been on the recruiting trail for the last year. Your affiliate program has exploded from having 500 affiliates to 3000 affiliates. If you are a fortunate affiliate manager, you have 10% of that 3000 active, or 300 active affiliates. More than likely you only have 5% active for a whopping 150 active affiliates. Now it is the Affiliate Manager’s job to stop recruitment and begin motivation of your lot of inactive affiliates. (more…)

Google and Consumer Privacy

Google Privacy.jpg

It is well-documented that Google runs a tight lipped operation. They do not offer data handling procedures or information to anyone, including the Federal Government. People are concerned, and concerned they should be, that Google will abuse their power and use the data to fuel their own consumer research and analyze consumer’s behavior.

E-Books Invade!

Posted by bfreedom | Affiliate Marketing | Wednesday 25 April 2007 5:36 pm

E-books are everywhere. That’s bad, but what’s worse is the authors that share the same air as all of us non-sleaze bags. The thing is, e-Books didn’t necessarily start off bad, and here and there you will find truly useful books. The falloff in quality is easy to explain. People who have had success on the Internet or wherever suddenly feel that they have become writers and need to share their knowledge and information with everyone. Normal people who think they can write have over-saturated the e-Book market with generic crap. They copy information from a plethora of sources, quote some of it, and throw it into a stupid e-Book. The problem is that these people aren’t writers and they aren’t experts, but rather salesmen, the used car salesmen type.
