Ebay is showing interest in obtaining Web 2.0 friendly StumbleUpon. An early estimate on the sale price would be upwards of $75 million. This would be a relatively cheap purchase for Ebay who recently bought StubHub for $292 million.
StumbleUpon has more than 2 million registered users and is located in San Francisco. StumbleUpon is proud to boast that they are the number 1 toolbar addition for Mozilla Firefox. The company which has 5 years under their belt in pairing people with personal interests and tastes. The newest development is a browser for the Nintendo Wii and soon StumbleUpon will be available anywhere there is an Internet connection. This clever new search engine has been turning heads of late, and it seems their efforts will be paid handsomely . . . but by who?
