Great Summer Opportunity to Make Money

Successful Affiliate Marketers know to look for niches to make solid money.  Seasonal niches can be very lucrative if optimized ahead of time.  There are already Affiliate Marketers preparing sites for the Holiday push later in the year.

Back to School comes once a year and parents will spend mad amounts of money to make sure their little ones have all the binders, pencils, paper and glue (not to eat, hopefully) that they will need to be successful in their academic endeavors.  If you are looking to target your eager parents purchasing school supplies online, look no further than young parents.  Don’t forget about all the college kiddies going back to school as well. Streaming Video in High Demand

Posted by Rambles | Google,Internet Marketing,Monetize,web 2.0 | Thursday 19 July 2007 8:51 am

For any doubters out there, online video is a hit and demand for streaming videos online is higher than ever.  According to Internet Retailer, close to 75% of U.S. Internet users have downloaded or watched streaming video during the month of May. The report states that the average time watching videos was 158 minutes during May.

Not surprisingly YouTube is leading the Internet in watched videos.  Fox Interactive and Yahoo websites followed YouTube from a distance.  There are a number of blogs and Affiliate Marketers currently using and/or monetizing video.  A few examples of bloggers who use video:

Google Search for Small Businesses

The new service offered by Google is called “Google Custom Search Business Edition” and is a middle ground between Google’s Custom Search Engine and Google Search Appliance.  The new application will cost $100 and requires three minimal steps before visitors can begin searching for information.

People can search 5000 pages deep for a particular site for the $100 fee.  For $500 you can search 15,000 pages deep, and the scale continues sliding to the left.  The data is offered from the same computers that run normal Google searches, essentially offering a collection of information that Google has crawled for their normal search engine.

This search engine is being marketing towards small businesses that require a lot of information at their fingertips.  It is also an effort to phase out Google Appliance which costs $2000 and isn’t very effective.

Article Marketing Worthless?

Posted by Rambles | Blogging,Internet Marketing,Traffic Generation | Monday 16 July 2007 8:46 am

Article Marketing is a poor way to attract traffic to your website for a number of reasons.

When you first begin submitting articles you probably aren’t changing the submission from your original, making it so the article posted on your website is no longer unique content.  Search Engines will see that the article has been passed around and your site will lose points because of the mistake. Moving to Ventura

Posted by Rambles | Affiliate Marketing | Sunday 15 July 2007 9:38 am

I am moving from Denver to Ventura in less than a week and a half.  Its a bummer to have to leave Denver after spending 7 years here, but it will be nice to be near the beach once more.

I really enjoyed my job at Denver Fabrics, and it is a shame I have to leave after I have learned so much.  Now I need to find a new job in the Ventura/Santa Barbara area.  I know there are some great companies out there so there should be a lot to look through.  It is still kind of shocking to think that I am moving to a new city (even though I grew up in Los Angeles) without a job or a place to live yet.  I guess its time to get my butt in gear.  Anyone have any suggestions for any companies I should look into for a job?

iPhone Unveils new Software Application for Businessmen

Posted by Rambles | Google,Internet Marketing | Friday 13 July 2007 3:39 pm

iPhone users are being offered a new capability designed for e-Commerce executives.  NetSuite, Inc have released SuitePhone for the iPhone giving the device the capability to run business operations on the phone.  Here is a quote from Internet Retailer on the new software:

“A user can check in real time visitors, inventory, orders and more from their dashboard. If a product is suddenly hot, they can capitalize on the opportunity by creating a promotion or changing a price on the fly. If a product is temporarily out of stock, they might take that product off the site or note the back-order position.”

This is a great addition because people will not have to add any additional layers and the only continuing cost is the Internet access.
