Potential Huge MoneyMaker

Amazon.com has released a pilot program called “Amazon Fresh”, which delivers fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and milk the day after you place your order.  The program is being tested in a small comunity in Seattle and with success, it will be implemented throughout the country over time.

Why is this a potential money maker?

Amazon.com already operates a hugely successful Affiliate program with thousands of members, and if “Amazon Fresh” gets added to the list of marketable programs, Affiliates stand to make a lot of money with the right promotion.  While grocery stores may never completely go out of style, ordering fresh food online WILL become the future as long as the food quality is high.

There are already local grocery stores that deliver online orders.  King Soopers in Denver will deliver any groceries you purchase online, and while it isn’t a widespread success yet, it is starting a trend that will become widely adopted.

Amazon.com is a big enough company that their “Amazon Fresh” program could turn heads and get people to adopt online grocery shopping.  More to come as the program develops.

I live in Denver & it is my understanding that the quality of food delivered from King Soopers is very low, specifically in the fruits and vegetable department. Why would I want someone else to pick fruit for me with out even looking at it first. I feel the same will apply when it comes to Amazon Fresh. How can you guarantee that the produce I pay extra for are in fact organic? People like to pick there fruits and vegetables to ensure they will last longer, hence I will not try this service.

This will be the ultimate test for Amazon Fresh. Will they be able to provide quality foods on a consistent basis. There is no question that Amazon will have to work some bugs out of their program, but with how busy/lazy people are today, I can see this program becoming an enormous success if they can guarantee quality.
