Affiliate Site with Zero Visibility

| Affiliate Marketing | Tuesday 14 August 2007 2:15 pm

Have you created an Affiliate site/s and nobody is visiting? You look in the Search Engines hoping to see your site rank for certain terms, but you are nowhere to be seen.

Would you trust someone that said, “I can get your site listed in the Top Ten of Google in 2 weeks”?

If you have just entered Affiliate Marketing and expected to make a quick buck, then you have chosen the wrong arena.

Successful Affiliate Marketers take months and even years to develop a highly visible website with targeted products. In general, you are looking at a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of web site development. This includes creating original content, building links and making on/off site SEO changes.

Any person that claims that they can get you ranked in the Top Ten in a week is flat out swindling you. You need to put the work into your site if you want to get something out of your site. In this case Affiliate $$$’s.

If you are not proficient in web-site development, there are certain tools and services that will help along the way.

  • Site Build It – Helps you design and build your website with a step by step training guide.
  • Hire a Freelance Web Designer
  • Hire a qualified SEM or SEO to optimize your site for the Search Engines
  • Hire a Copywriter to generate content for your site

You can also accomplish the goals you set for yourself and your site with hard work and a little bit of research.

AMEN Brother and well said. I have worked for years and have sales from my content, and it took about 6 months to get the first sale. That was back in the beginning times of 97. It was easier then.

I also hate those ads that claim to get your site in Google in the top 10 guaranteed. Maybe they really mean the top 10 on page 4,786 or something like that (their small print probably says that).

Out of the last 4 people I have spent time coaching in this business, only one gets it, and he is terribly impatient at that. He has already kind of branched out into web design instead. I applaud that, as it gives him time to learn more.

I hate all the hype out there, and it makes me really mad that those hype guys are making money off of people. It sours them to the real possibilities of affiliate marketing.
