With a recession looming over America, it could be another poor holiday season, specifically Black Friday, for American retailers. With consumers looking to prepare for the unsteadiness ahead, they will be willing to part with less of their money on the Holiday 2007 season. If sales are down for Black Friday 2007 and the rest of the 2007 holiday season, retailers may not be as willing to slash prices for the holiday season and Black Friday of 2008.
It will be an interesting online shopping season for 2007. Predictions are being with-held because no one really knows how consumers are going to react to the economy crisis. Retailer’s numbers are already down this year, and it would certainly hurt to have a weak Black Friday and a weak 2007 holiday season. I would check out Walmart, Microsoft and Sharper Image as three retailers who should be offering good deals for this holiday season.
