Black Friday Sales 2012

Most people know of the famous Day After Thanksgiving Sale, Black Friday. It is commonly referred to as the kickoff to the holiday shopping season. If you haven’t experienced Black Friday before, you may not fully understand how crazy it is. A number of stores (Sharper Image, Walmart, Best Buy) open their doors as early as 6 am to a crowd of hungry bargain shoppers. With that in mind, here is my advice to be a successful and smart Black Friday Shopper for 2007:

• Check the Internet. Many stores offer deals on the Internet before stores open on Friday morning. You can find these deals posted on Thanksgiving night. Some of these deals are “Web only” and are prices that can’t be beat in stores. A number of stores, Walmart comes to mind, will post their Black Friday deals on Thanksgiving night, and you can order them and pick them up in the store on Friday, avoiding much of the hassle of shopping in the store.
• Read ads from various companies and see if the deals are really worth it.
• Do your comparison shopping and education before Black Friday, because you won’t have tome come Black Friday, where if you blink, you might miss it.
• Most companies will not match Internet prices, so if you see something incredible on the Internet, buy it.
• Don’t forget to ask for a gift receipt
• Sometimes when shopping on the Internet, big companies aren’t always your best bet. Check out a shopping engine like Shopzilla.
