Online sales so far for the holiday 2007 season have far surpassed most sales forecasts. Retailer’s numbers are up, some as high as 50% from last year. A stronger than expected Black Friday and increasing sales volume for Cyber Monday helped fuel the strong sales.

Retailers should be excited about their online efforts because Black Friday and Cyber Monday are only the start to the online holiday shopping season. The strongest sales online occur in the middle of December as Christmas creeps closer and people need to have the presents ordered by a certain date to have them delivered on time for Christmas. Sales are expected to last even later in to this years shopping season because there is an extra Monday for ordered gifts to arrive.

The big hurdle of the shopping season to date was on Cyber Monday when Yahoo Checkout stopped functioning for about 400 online retailers. Yahoo has fixed the problem and Christmas and holiday shopping seem to be running smoothly.

The big winners among online retailers in terms of traffic and sales for Black Friday and Cyber Monday go to Walmart, Amazon.com and the QVC Empire. All received historic levels of traffic and sales over the past week.

Christmas sales and holiday shopping in 2007 are in full swing. Of all the retailers I feel that the best deals can be found at Walmart. Sales can be found on every product imaginable and you can surely find gifts for everyone and anyone at Walmart. Toys, electronics, home and garden, video games, jewelry and every other product category has items on sale.

The top sellers at Walmart are the electronics and video game sections. XBox bundles are on sale for under $350, Playstation 3 bundles are on sale for under $400 and video games from 2007 can be found for under $20.

GPS systems from Garmin, TomTom and Magellan can be found at a wide range of prices, from under $200 to $1000. HDTVs are a hot item for the holidays with some HDTV’s are available for more than half off the regular price. If you are going to buy a new HDTV now is the time to do so.

Toys for all ages are deeply discounted at Walmart for the Christmas season. Jewelry is also on sale as are home products.

HDTV’s are a hot commodity this holiday season. Whether you buy them from WalMart, Best Buy or Costco, the bottom line is that there are a lot of great TV’s on sale this holiday season.
